At present, there are three dimensions of Music Education – Traditional Gharanedar education system through Guru- Shishya parampara, Institutional Music Education System and Distance Music Education. From the thousands of years, we have been following the trend of Guru –Shishya parampara for Music Education. In the beginning of 20th century Institutional Music Education system was introduced.  Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar and Pt. Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande has established the music institutes and popularized the trend of institutional music system and today in 21st century, with the help of information technology, we are availing the facility of Distance Education or E – Learning in Music.

 In the field of education, information technology has opened the new doors to access the knowledge and information through CD, DVD, e-teaching, e-journals etc. As we know that the journals are vital source of information for scientific research and development in academic libraries and information centres. E-journals have many advantages such as; easily searchable, interactive, accessible, inexpensive etc. Today E- Journals are need of time.
