Abstract

Ragas is innumerable in number. There are few ragas which when listened seems to be similar to another raga. However, a subtle analysis on their structure would help us in identifying the similarities and special phrases unique to each of the ragas. Listening to compositions in these ragas would give us identify the structure of the raga. Learning the lakshana of the raga based on references helps us obtain the svarastanas of the raga and intricate. This research is on analysis of the Raga Bhoopalam, Bowli and Revagupti, their common phrases and special features that makes each of the ragas distinguishable from other ragas. Notations in each of the raga have been provided for reference.
