Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic has affected all walks of life worldwide. Most of the professionals were affected due to the imposed ban on social gatherings. The arts and creative industry were one of the worst affected sectors, however, there is a limited number of studies related to this. Therefore, a study was undertaken to assess the professional impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on musicians. A descriptive study was done with the help of a structured questionnaire in google form which was shared through social media among musicians mainly from India and other countries. The questionnaire assessed the impact of COVID-19 in various aspects of the profession, i.e., the teaching of music, music performance, practice or riyaz, and overall economic impact.
